Sublimation Shopping Bags for Retail and Promotions: Fabric and Care Guide
Fabric choices, print expectations and care instructions for reusable sublimation bags - what retail buyers should confirm before ordering.

A printed shopping bag walks around the city with your design on it, so the fabric choice decides how the bag looks after weeks of use - not just on delivery day. This guide covers fabric weight, print expectations and the care wording you can pass to your own customers.
Choosing the Right Fabric Weight
So lighter polyester suits event giveaways where the bag is folded and handed out in hundreds. Heavier polyester canvas holds its structure, carries retail branding with a more premium feel, and stands up to repeated loading. The standard model here is polyester canvas in 38 x 42 x 10 cm (15 x 16.5 x 4 in), with custom sizes available, and reinforced stitching on the handles.
What Sublimation Printing Delivers on Bags
Because the design is dyed into the polyester rather than printed on a layer, the print wraps the bag surface edge to edge and survives rubbing and folding far better than surface prints. But the fabric must be polyester for the dye to bond - which is why sublimation bags are polyester by definition.
Care Instructions That Keep Prints Bright
For daily care, sublimated bags wash well in cool water with mild detergent, and the print does not flake because there is no print layer to flake. Avoid bleach and long soaks, air-dry rather than tumble, and iron on the reverse side if needed. These four lines are enough for the care card you ship to your own customers.
One care card line that works everywhere: cool wash, no bleach, air dry - the print is in the fabric, so it stays.
